NEW TUNNEL WILL IMPROVE CLEANLINESS OF THAMES - HUHNE

Commenting on the announcement of a new drainage tunnel to help modernise London's Victorian sewage system, Liberal Democrat Shadow Environment Secretary, Chris Huhne MP said:

"This is a vital scheme to continue improving the cleanliness of the Thames.

"With salmon now coming back into the river for the first time in centuries, this marks another step forward in caring for Britain's best-known river and all its users."
