Eastleigh MP Chris Huhne today welcomed the news that two leading sports facilities in the area have made the Olympic grade as training facilities for the teams that will arrive in Britain for the Olympics in 2012.

"Congratulations to both the Rose Bowl and the Dynamo School of Gymnastics in Hamble for making the Olympic grade" said Mr Huhne. "This is great news for the area as it is like getting a five star rating in a hotel guide. It does not mean that foreign teams will definitely come to the area, but it makes it much more likely".

Mr Huhne recently visited the gym facilities at Hamble school in Satchell Lane along with former Olympian Sir Menzies Campbell, pictured, who talked with young athletes who train there.

"Britain is going to go Olympics-crazy in 2012, and it is good news that our area will be able to participate actively in the fun".
